5 Tips to Book Dream Clients with Instagram Stories

Are you showing up on stories like you know you should?

Think about it. What gets you to buy from the people that you do? Is it their beautiful graphics or the fact that you feel like you know them and trust that they can help you?

Let’s think about the real world for a second. Picture this: you need to buy some hardware for a project, and there are two hardware stores in your city. You know the owner of one of hardware store A. You’ve had a few conversations with them, and you feel like you know them. You’ve never met the owner of hardware store B. Which one are you going to go to?

You are going to support the person that you know. It’s the same in the online world.

So, how do people get to know you? The answer is video content. People want to hear your voice, see your mannerisms, and get a feel for your personality! Instagram stories are the perfect tool for this because they allow business owners to post sneak peaks into their lives that are relatable. They also allow us to show that we are human!

This may sound a little silly but when you’re scrolling, it’s easy to forget there is a human on the other side of that screen!

Because I really want you to start booking dream clients, here are my top tips to attracting them with IG stories.

Post Video Content

The easiest way for people to get to know you is to post video content. As an online business, even if you’ve decided you aren’t a “personal brand”, I still want to see your face! Take time to introduce yourself. Every business has a spokesperson, even if they are a big corporation. So I don’t want any excuses! Stories also make it very easy to record and post video content quickly and in real-time, so don’t overcomplicate it in your head! Just make sure you add captions if you’re speaking.

Educate Your Audience

How can I come to trust that you are an expert? Show me! Give me a reason to click the follow button by giving me tips, tricks, and tutorials on your services. Teach me how I can improve my life or business and prove to me that you know your stuff. I recommend between 2-3 mini trainings to your stories every week. And yes, I do mean on video as well!

Showcase Your Personality

Whether you do a quirky weekly series or just post your daily walks with you dog, I want to see a glimpse into your life. If I’m a coffee person, and you are posting your morning coffee, I’m going to relate to that and it’s likely that I am going to react. I guarantee you will always get more reactions and DMs on stories that are about you and your life. Ideally, you want to frame any educational content with lifestyle content.

Ask for Engagement

Stories give us so many opportunities to boost our engagement. Make the most of questions, and other stickers in your stories! You can even poll your audience on which mini trainings they’d like to see from you that week. There are many ways we can use stories to get more DMs.

Go Engage with Other Accounts

Stories make it so easy to slide into DMs. The minute someone sends a reaction to your story, guess where they end up? That’s right, in your inbox. When you’re doing your weekly engagement with other accounts, don’t forget to watch their stories and react to anything that you relate to! You’ll immediately end up in their DMs. This could be the start of a new relationship with potential client!

Now get to it! I want to see you posting those videos and engaging in stories. Oh, and don’t forget to celebrate when you do end up booking those dream clients!
